According to the New York Daily News, the late Christopher Wallace known as Biggie Smalls will be honored in August. Voletta Wallace will be cutting the ribbon August 1st at the playground that is located on Fulton St. and Classon Ave in the New York City neighborhood of Bedford-Stuyvesant, which is in the Brooklyn borough.

Robert Cornegy Jr. tells the NY Daily News "This honor is very personal to me, twenty years later, this comes full circle, this renaming of the basketball courts in his honor." Cornegy also mentioned that he lived in the same apartment complex as Biggie when he was growing up.

On August 5th, a basketball tournament will take place on the renamed courts and will be held in Biggie's honor. It is the very same court that Biggie used to play ball.

The playground was originally named after Crispus Attucks, who was the first Black American colonist who was killed by British troops during the Boston Massacre.
